Selective demolition of rear additions, garages, and outbuildings while preserving the primary structure. Common on the Lower North Shore where heritage-listed and conservation area homes are common. City of Ryde and Lane Cove

Standard residential demolitions via CDC. Both councils have active infill development programs. Tree preservation and stormwater management requirements apply. A 1963 brick veneer home on a 720m2 R2 block in Chatswood was referred to us ahead of a dual-occupancy knockdown-rebuild. Pre-demolition inspection confirmed asbestos in eave linings and vinyl floor tiles consistent with early 1960s construction. The block had two mature trees within proximity of the demolition footprint – a tree preservation assessment was required before the CDC application could be submitted to Willoughby City Council.

We coordinated the arborist assessment confirming machinery access routes would avoid root protection zones, prepared the CDC application documentation, and coordinated utility disconnections with Ausgrid, Jemena Gas, and Sydney Water. Licensed asbestos removal was completed in one day, with hygienist clearance issued the following morning.

Full structural demolition including footings was completed on day 2, with machinery access routes maintained to protect both protected trees throughout. The site was levelled and handed over to the builder with a complete compliance documentation pack on day 3.
