Demolition Services in Canada Bay – Five Dock, Drummoyne, Rhodes and Concord
The City of Canada Bay covers a compact but high-value residential and commercial corridor on Sydney’s inner Parramatta River waterfront. Five Dock, Drummoyne, Concord, and Rhodes each have their own demolition character – from 1950s and 60s brick homes in Five Dock being cleared for dual-occupancy, to the Rhodes Peninsula where large-scale apartment development has been progressively replacing industrial and residential structures for over a decade.
Get It Away operates from our Rose Bay office at 643 Old South Head Road – 25 minutes from Five Dock via the ANZAC Bridge and Victoria Road. We hold a SafeWork NSW Restricted Demolition Licence (DE2 – AD214489) and deliver residential demolition, excavation, and site preparation across the Canada Bay LGA. We also operate from our Smithfield office across Greater Sydney.
Canada Bay – Four Different Suburbs, One Consistent Standard
City of Canada Bay covers suburbs with distinct development histories. Understanding each one helps set the right scope and approval pathway from the outset.

Partial demolition
Selective demolition of rear extensions, garages, and outbuildings in Drummoyne and Concord heritage areas where the primary structure must be retained. Specific methodology to avoid impact on heritage fabric. Works planned and executed to the DA conditions where applicable.

Project Insight
Dual-Occupancy Site Preparation – Five Dock
A 1958 brick and fibro home on a 607m2 R2 block in Five Dock was referred to us ahead of a dual-occupancy knockdown-rebuild. Pre-demolition inspection identified asbestos in fibro eave linings and sub-floor sheeting. The property was outside any Heritage Conservation Area, allowing a CDC pathway.
We prepared the CDC documentation, coordinated utility disconnections with Ausgrid, Jemena Gas, and Sydney Water, and lodged the SafeWork NSW notification. Licensed asbestos removal was completed in one day with hygienist clearance issued before structural demolition commenced the following morning.
Full structural demolition including footings was completed on day 2. The site was levelled and handed over to the dual-occupancy builder on day 3 with a full compliance documentation package.
Scope: Asbestos removal + full demolition + site clearance | Timeline: 3 working days | Location: Five Dock, City of Canada Bay
